Ship Lane is the customer-facing service operated by Car Ship Global LLC. This policy explains how we handle information for quotes, booking, payment, dispatch, tracking, email, SMS, and support.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to quote, book, dispatch, and track a vehicle shipment. This can include pickup and delivery locations, vehicle details, customer contact information, shipment contacts, payment status, quote details, tracking activity, and support messages.
Payment card details are handled by Stripe. Ship Lane stores payment identifiers and status needed to reconcile orders, refunds, and operations, but does not store full card numbers.
We may collect website event data such as page views, route selections, quote activity, booking-start activity, referral details, and campaign parameters to understand marketing performance and improve the booking experience.
How we use information
We use customer information to provide quotes, process bookings and payments, coordinate dispatch through Super Dispatch, send shipment updates, provide customer support, detect errors, prevent abuse, and improve the booking experience.
Operational vendors may process information on our behalf, including Stripe for payments, Super Dispatch for fulfillment, Resend for email, Twilio for SMS, Clerk for authentication, Meta and advertising measurement partners such as Birch for website event measurement, analytics and error-monitoring tools, and infrastructure providers.
SMS and phone communication
When you provide a phone number during booking, Ship Lane may use it for required shipment coordination calls and carrier handoffs about your quote, booking, pickup, carrier assignment, delivery, documents, tracking links, refunds, cancellations, and support issues. Providing a phone number is not SMS consent.
SMS shipment updates are optional. We send Ship Lane SMS updates only when you separately check the optional SMS box during booking or another support-approved consent flow. The SMS checkbox starts unchecked, and you can leave it unchecked and still complete a quote, booking, payment, or shipment. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out of SMS updates, and reply HELP for help when supported by the carrier network. You can also contact support to update communication preferences. Opting out of SMS does not stop shipment-related emails or operational calls needed to coordinate the transport.
Ship Lane does not sell, rent, or share SMS opt-in consent, phone numbers, or text-message consent data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties except vendors that operate Ship Lane messaging on our behalf.

Data sharing
We share information only as needed to operate Ship Lane, complete a shipment, comply with law, enforce terms, prevent fraud, or work with vendors that provide services to us. We do not operate a lead-resale marketplace for customer quote requests.
Carriers and dispatch vendors may receive shipment details needed to quote, accept, pick up, transport, and deliver a vehicle.
Advertising measurement partners may receive limited website event data so we can measure and improve ad performance. SMS opt-in consent, mobile phone numbers collected for SMS, and text-message consent data are not included in advertising measurement data and are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Retention and choices
We keep records for as long as needed for operations, accounting, legal, safety, fraud-prevention, and customer-support purposes. You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or support with communication preferences, subject to operational and legal limits.
